Meet Halsey, a 3-4-year-old, 60-65-pound bundle of joy with a big personality! This sweet, loving girl was once on a euthanasia list, desperately needing rescue, and we're so glad we could give her a second chance. Halsey is a lively, happy pup with a big blockhead, and we believe she's a Lab/Bulldog mix—adorable and full of charm!
Short and stocky, Halsey has a Bulldog attitude wrapped in soft fur. She's a spunky gal who loves to romp and play, but once inside, she quickly settles down and is easygoing. Halsey thrives once she knows her routine and builds a bond with her people. She absolutely LOVES people and does great around kids. However, she would prefer to be the only dog in the home.
Halsey is food motivated and responds well to corrections, making her easy to train. Establishing a clear leadership role with her is essential; without it, she may test boundaries and try to take charge. She needs an experienced dog owner who understands canine behavior and can handle her strength. Once the relationship is established and she understands the rules, Halsey is an absolute dream to be around!
This affectionate, cuddly girl loves belly rubs and is always ready to show her love. Halsey is also an excellent alert dog, protective of her family and home. While she is mostly quiet, she'll definitely let you know when something's not right.
Halsey rides well in a car and is both potty and crate trained. She's already mastered the "sit" command and is continuing to learn more cues. Though she pulls slightly on a leash, a well-fitted harness corrects this. She enjoys chasing a ball and loves eating treats.
Halsey would make the perfect companion for a single person or a family. She’d do well in a working household but, like most dogs, would enjoy having a human companion most days.
If you're interested in giving Halsey the loving home she deserves, please fill out the pre-adoption application. Halsey has been fully vetted: she is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm tested (positive and currently undergoing treatment), and microchipped.
