Meet Red — A Wonderful Yellow Labrador Ready for His New Beginning
Red is a 4–5‑year‑old yellow Labrador who came to us from a government‑run shelter after his owner passed away. Even in the midst of loss and uncertainty, Red has shown nothing but sweetness, trust, and that classic Lab desire to connect with his people.
Recently, Red was neutered, is up‑to‑date on all vaccines, tested negative for heartworm, and has been placed on prevention. He is healthy, happy, and ready to begin the next chapter of his life.
Temperament & Personality
Red is a sweetheart — the kind of dog who looks at you with hope in his eyes and a tail that starts wagging the moment you speak to him. He loves human attention, loves being included, and thrives on companionship. He listens well, knows sit, and is eager to please.
He is housebroken, enjoys playing fetch, and has a good amount of energy. Red will do best in a home that can give him:
Plenty of exercise
A fenced‑in yard
Structure, affection, and daily engagement
He also knows how to settle and relax, and once his needs are met, he is content to calm down and chill out beside his person. Red seems to prefer a home where someone is stay‑at‑home or works from home, or at least has a schedule that allows for meaningful time with him. He bonds deeply and loves having his person nearby.
Other Dogs, Cats & Kids
Red came in with two other dogs (a female and a male) and showed no negative reaction toward them. Since he was just neutered, we have not yet allowed full playtime with other dogs, but he appears comfortable and appropriate around those he has encountered.
