Rigsby

Meet Rigsby! He’s a 75-pound, 4-year-old dog born on September 14, 2020. Rigsby is a sweet, energetic boy who loves to swim and play fetch non-stop, so be prepared to keep up or your arm might fall off! While Rigsby gets along well with other dogs, he’s not a fan of cats. He’s also great around older teens and adults, but due to some challenges adjusting to little ones, he would do best in a home without small children. He can interact with children under supervision, but he’s not comfortable living with infants or toddlers on a daily basis.

Rigsby is housebroken, crate trained, and knows several cues and professionally trained knows including; come, sit, stay, place, wait, crate, touch, leave it, and fetch. His leash training is a work in progress—he knows “heel” but could use more practice, especially since he reacts to parked cars during walks. However, he rides well in a vehicle, with his quirky behavior limited to parked cars.

Rigsby thrives in an active environment, so he’d be happiest in a home that can include him in family activities and provide the daily exercise he needs. Ideally, a home with a large, fenced-in yard would be perfect for him to run, play, and enjoy those sunny days. A place where he could swim would be a bonus!

Rigsby is fully medically vetted—he’s neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, on monthly prevention, and microchipped. If you think Rigsby might be a good fit for your family, you can start the adoption process by completing a pre-adoption online application.

Billy Dean

Meet "Billy Dean." this handsome Lab, Male. 3 yrs old, approx., 60-65 lbs. Billy Dean is a CALM, sweet, loving, and easy-going gentleman. He tested at the shelter with other dogs and was very polite. He walks okay on leash (tugs some), and waits to potty outside. He does have a bad habit we are working toward correcting; he taps and dances with his front paws while it's cute to watch he sometimes does it on a door when walking out or wanting in one. lol, He is learning "sit", "wait" and "no", so he stops and doesn't do it. He is brilliant so he listens well. From the looks of his coat at first, you knew he was neglected some and may have been outside way too much. We want so much more for him, he deserves to be a cherished family member in a fabulous home that will enjoy this wonderful boy. Billy has mastered crate and potty training with no accidents. Billy takes treats super gently, he's gentle enough even for kids and doesn't jump up on anyone. What an amazing boy that is so worthy of a loving home. Billy Dean is fully medically vetted, neutered, up-to-date, and heartworm tested plus placed on prevention and microchipped and now available to go to a forever home. He is available at the right home locally in North Alabama and the surrounding areas of our foster-to-adopt program. Out-of-state families are welcome to apply to adopt.
